What day will be iPhone 14 does the launch actually take place? Apple rarely announces dates for such events more than two weeks in advance, so it always ends up being a topic of discussion and debate. The latest rumor that has swept the web claims that we could see the new iPhones at the Apple event a week earlier than expected.
According to tipster Max Weinbach (opens in a new tab), Apple may unveil the iPhone 14 on September 6. Weinbach’s sources also claim that the iPhone 14 release date will be September 16 (the day it goes on sale). However, we don’t fully trust this rumor for several reasons.
fwiw i heard the 6th september event and the iphone on sale the 16th not 100% sure but there seems fair. https://t.co/X2vbu2XyiCAugust 7, 2022
Apple tends to hold its iPhone launch events on the second Tuesday in September, which would have unveiled the iPhone 14 lineup on September 13. We have already seen some rumors pointing to this date. Pre-orders usually open this Friday, in this case September 16, and actually go on sale a week later, which is September 23.
However, if what Weinbach claims is true, and he admits he’s not 100% sure, then Apple would move their usual schedule forward by a week. It should be mentioned that September 5 is Labor Day. Launching the iPhone 14 lineup the very next day and forcing attendees to travel to the event on vacation would not win Apple any favors.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that Apple is already filming the video presentation of the event. But it’s unclear whether that means the event will be entirely virtual or a physical event with video presentations – as was the case with WWDC. We are inclined to assume the latter.
There have been rumors of supply chain issues affecting iPhone 14 production – particularly with display and camera lens components. Apples recent earnings call suggested that the iPhone 14 is still on track to hit its usual launch window, thanks to the company successfully managing ongoing supply chain issues.
The fact that the phone may arrive sooner than expected might back this up – assuming the rumors are true. After all, Apple isn’t immune to supply chain delays. He had to delay the launch of the iPhone 12 month and stagger the release of the four models.
There have been rumors that the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max might not have some of the same upgrades as the two Pro models. One such rumor suggests that the new The A16 Bionic chip would be exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, with regular iPhones getting the same A15 bionic chip like iPhone 13.
In fact, based on our iPhone 14 vs. iPhone 14 Pro preview, there might be the biggest differences in years between the new iPhone and Pro models. This includes a notchless design for the iPhone 14 Pros, a new 48MP camera, and an always-on display. But there are still reasons why the The iPhone 14 could stand up to the iPhone 14 Pro. And the new iPhone 14 Max model could give buyers a big screen for a relatively affordable price.
