A hostage situation in Edgewater ended in the deaths of three people on Monday night. The police are talking about a double murder-suicide. This happened in the Ridgewood and East Knapp Avenue neighborhood. A suspect walked into a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, shot a man and took a woman hostage, Edgewater police say. The rest of those present at the meeting, around 20, escaped. Edgewater Police spent hours trying to get the suspect out of the building, but the SWAT team eventually had to break through the door to get in and find the victims. When they walked through the door, they found the original victim, the woman, and the shooter all dead. The victims have been identified as Ian Greenfield, 59, and Erica Hoffman, 33. The accused shooter was Quinton Hunter, 49, nicknamed “Rags”. Police say the incident stems from a love triangle. Hunter was Hoffman’s ex-boyfriend, who was in a new relationship with Greenfield. Police say Hunter went on Facebook Live while inside the building during the Narcotics Anonymous meeting after shooting Greenfield but before shooting Hoffman. In the video, he just stares at the camera and breathes strangely, according to police. According to police, Hunter has a long criminal history.
