Apple’s iPhone 14 will likely launch soon
If Apple maintains its current model, it will likely announce the iPhone 14 in the first half of September alongside iOS16 and start it in the second half. Older iPhones could be cheaper
Don’t care about having the latest iPhone? You should still wait. Apple typically cuts prices on previous iPhone models when introducing new models, just like it did with the iPhone 12 last year. The 64GB iPhone 12, for example, was discounted from $800 to $700 after the iPhone 13 was announced. The iPhone 11, meanwhile, dropped to $500 in 2021.
This year’s iPhone launch might be even better for those who’d rather save some cash on an older model. If Apple follows the 2021 model, it will likely keep the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini in its lineup and drop the price of the Mini to $500. That’s important, because it would make the iPhone 12 Mini one of the cheapest 5G iPhones available. Yes the iPhoneSE is cheaper at $430 and also supports 5G. However, it also comes with a much smaller screen than Apple’s other phones, has only one main camera (most newer phones have two), and doesn’t have Face ID. .

If you really need an iPhone right now
Not everyone can wait. If you really need a new iPhone right now and want to save a few bucks, consider buying a refurbished iPhone. Apple Deals refurbished models on its website which come with a one year warranty. Apple says these used devices are inspected, cleaned, and include the option to extend customer service with an AppleCare plan.
You can also look for refurbished models on websites such as Gazelle and Amazon, which will have their own information on the condition of the device and the terms of the warranty period.
