James Tupper showed his appreciation after his ‘Men in Trees’ co-star Emily Bergl hit back at rumors that his late ex-girlfriend Anne Heche was “crazy.”
The 57-year-old actor, who shares son Atlas, 13, with the ‘Another World’ alum, called Bergl’s Friday Instagram post “completely accurate and true.”
He wrote: “Oh my God, thank you for writing this…. i love you e.
In his long message, Bergl wrote that Heche, who died friday at 53, was a “genius”.
“Anne was…one of the most focused and prepared actresses I’ve ever worked with,” the 47-year-old “Shameless” alum told her followers after working with the Daytime Emmy winner of 2006 to 2008. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen her miss her mark.
“His strength seemed superhuman,” Bergl continued, noting that Heche never “telephoned[d] it in” on the set.
“She worked for twelve hours, invited everyone to the bar, drank a few doubles and came back to work at four in the morning.”
Heche was “always on time” and “bright without makeup,” the “Southland” alum added. “Scene after scene, his work would be flawless, yet always remain spontaneous.”
At the time of Bergl’s post, Heche was declared brain dead and “shouldn’t survive” after crashing his blue Mini Cooper into a Los Angeles home and causing a fire a week before.
Tony’s contestant was taken off life support on Sunday, with her rep telling Page Six, “We’ve lost a bright light, a kind and joyful soul, a loving mother and a loyal friend.”
While Bergl and Tupper have yet to post on social media since Heche’s passing, the eldest son of the late “Call Me Crazy” author Homer, 20, told us he hope she is “pain free” now.
“After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I’m left with a deep, wordless sadness,” Homer said over the weekend. “I hope my mom…starts exploring what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.”
Heche gave birth to Homer in 2002 while married to Coleman “Coley” Laffoon. After the couple separated in 2007, she moved on with Tupper.
The former couple welcomed Atlas in 2009, call it quits in 2018. Following Heche car accidentthe “Big Little Lies” alum written via Instagram that he “will love [her] still.”
As for Laffoon’s tributethe 48-year-old real estate broker tells his Instagram followers Friday that Homer is “strong” and “it will be fine”.
He gushed: “She came in hot and she had a lot to say and she was brave and fearless, really loved hard and was never afraid to let us know what she thought and what she believed in.”
