Fox News host Sean Hannity knocked at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and said he should be replaced as leader after the Republican appeared to warn that the GOP could not retake the Senate in November’s midterm elections.
Hannity slammed McConnell for his comments about “candidate quality” in crucial Senate races where the Kentucky Republican seemed to drown out expectations that his party can win the chamber.
“Democrats portray Republican Senate candidates running in upcoming elections and midterms as cruel and out of touch,” Hannity said Friday. “Well, apparently Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is just letting them dry off and fend for themselves. Listen to these comments, very encouraging.”
Hannity played McConnell’s comments where he said: “I think the House is probably more likely to tip over than the Senate. Senate races are just different – they’re statewide The quality of the applicants has a lot to do with the outcome.”
The FoxNews the host responded to McConnell’s remarks by comparing Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman to the senator Bernie Sandersan independent from Vermont, saying he is to the left of Sanders.
Fetterman is the Democratic Senate candidate facing Republicans Dr. Mehmet Oz and leads Oz by more than 10 points, according to poll tracker FiveThirtyEight. Their analysis also revealed that Democrats are slightly favored to win the Senate, while Republicans remain favorite to win the House of Representatives.
“And yet you don’t hear Chuckie Schumer complaining about the quality of the candidates in Pennsylvania,” Hannity said, referring to the Senate Majority Leader. chuck schumer.
“How about you go out, Mitch, and fight for your team? What’s your agenda, Mitch, or would you rather just sit and watch helplessly as the Democrats lie to your face, spend another $500 billion green power mess next year? said the Fox News host.
“Or does Mitch McConnell hate donald trump so much so that he would probably prefer to see Trump-endorsed candidates lose because he thinks it might hurt Donald Trump?” Hannity said.
“His time as a leader must come to an end,” he added.
Oz was endorsed by Trump along with other Republican Senate candidates in competitive races.

Trump and McConnell have been at odds since the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. The former president called for McConnell to be replaced as GOP Senate leader and repeatedly called him an “old crow.”
In February, Trump said that McConnell was “so against what Republicans are” after senator says he opposes Republican National Committee censure of Reps Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzingerwho both sit on the January 6 Committee.
McConnell largely ignored the former president’s criticism and even joked about the nickname “old crow”but if Republicans fail to retake the Senate, questions could again arise over McConnell’s leadership.
