Olivia Wilde begged Shia LaBeouf to stay on “Don’t Worry Darling” in a leaked video Friday, just two days after the director claimed she shot the former lead of the film.
An admittedly “sweaty” Wilde, 38, spoke while driving in the 2020 selfie video, explaining to LaBeouf, 36, that she had just been riding a horse.
“I wanted to reach out because I feel like I’m not ready to let go of this yet,” she said. “I too am heartbroken and want to understand this.”
The “Booksmart” director then hinted at a disagreement between LaBeouf and the film’s lead actress, Florence Pugh.
“I think that might be a bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo, and I want to know if you’re ready to give it a shot with me, with us,” she said.
“If she really commits, if she really puts her mind and heart into it at this point, and if you can make peace – and I respect your point of view, I respect hers – but if you can do that, what are you doing ? you think?” Wilde continued.
The “House” alum concluded by repeatedly asking the actor if there was “hope,” asking him to “let [her] know” his decision.
The leaked images come after Wilde says Variety that the “Even Stevens” alum was dropped from the project and replaced by her boyfriend, Harry Styles, to keep the other cast members “safe” from his “fighting energy”.
Beef clapped back to his allegations in a email Variety Thursday and also sent the magazine screenshots of texts Wilde allegedly sent her in August 2020 after expressing a desire to quit.
“It doesn’t feel good to say no to someone, and I respect your honesty,” Wilde reportedly wrote in a text. “I’m disgusted because it could have been something special.”
LaBeouf claimed he “officially” resigned the day after receiving that message, which was allegedly sent on August 16.
Now the former Disney Channel star is asking Wilde to correct his previous allegations, writing in the email posted Friday that the former ‘OC’ made it ‘harder’ for him to ‘get out of the hole’ than he did. dug amid previous scandals.
The ‘Honeyboy’ star, who was accused of abuse in 2021 and has since sought treatmentexplained, “This situation with your film and my ‘firing’ will never have a court date to deal with the facts. If the lies are repeated enough in the public, they become the truth.
“Firing me never happened, Olivia,” LaBeouf continued. “And while I fully understand the appeal of pushing this story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. That’s not the truth.
“Don’t Worry Darling” hits theaters on September 23.
