Britney Spears Says She’s Having the “Best Day Ever” With Elton John’s No. 1 Collaboration: “Holy shit!”

When Britney Spears’ and Elton Johns’ musical collaboration “Hold Me Closer” hit number one on iTunes just hours after its release on Friday, the 40-year-old pop princess posted a cheeky Twitter video to the “Tiny Dancer” singer, saying she was going to have the “best day of my life” and hoped he was “well”.

“Hello Sir Elton John, we’re like number 1 in 40 countries,” Spears said fresh-faced to the camera in a fake British accent. “Holy shit! I’m in the tub right now and I’m about to have the best day of my life and I hope you’re okay.”

The post came after Spears again deleted her Instagram account. The ‘Baby One More Time’ singer posted a short snippet of ‘Hold Me Closer’ on the platform before it was officially released on Friday, along with a caption thanking John for his ‘generosity’ during their collaboration. , according to Billboard.

“Maybe we should have tea time!!!” the singer joked to John. “Oh and invite Queen Elizabeth too!!! I bet she’s a brilliant study in behavior!!! So shall we tidy up??? Since most say they’re honored TO KNOW ME SO WELL and don’t want bliss for me… you can bet your bottom dollar that THIS collab will enhance my year by joining your brilliant playing hands.

John responded in the comments, “More than a background singer, honey. Can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on!”

It was unclear why she deleted her Instagram. Before this week, she had mostly posted on Instagram and hadn’t been active on Twitter since January.

He also responded to her tweet, saying, “Hey Britney!! Thanks for the message. You made my day!! Hope everyone has the best day dancing to our song! #HoldMeCloser.”

The song is Spears’ first since she guardianship has ended last year – at one point she said she wouldn’t perform on stage until she was done and claimed that under her terms she wasn’t allowed to do any remixes of his songs or performing new music — and the first in six years since his 2016 album “Glory.”

Spears shared her thoughts with him musical return in a pinned tweet Wednesday ahead of the release of “Hold Me Closer.”
