A worker at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans was killed Tuesday night following an incident at work.Jermani Thompson, 26, of Reserve, LA., was injured at the airport and was was taken to a local hospital around 10 p.m. Thompson was pronounced dead in hospital. Thompson was an employee of GAT Airline Ground Support. According to reports, his hair got tangled in the tape feeder, which resulted in fatal injuries. Kevin Dolliole, Director of Aviation at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Jermani Thompson, a member of the ground handling crew. of GAT Airline. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport extends its sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to our partners at GAT and Fontier Airlines.
