The National Hurricane Center gives the system a 40% chance of forming within the next two days and a 60% chance of forming within the next five days.

“Environmental conditions are favorable for some development of this system, and a tropical depression could form within days while moving west to west-northwest at 15 to 20 mph over the east and from the central tropical Atlantic. Altitude winds are likely to become less favorable for development this weekend,” the NHC said.
